Admissions Policy

  • Our Lady of Mercy School follows Archdiocese of Washington policy and does not discriminate with regard to admission of children.  If the school has a large number of applications for a class, admittance may be determined by the family’s active participation in the parish community, as evidenced by the following:

    • Sunday attendance at Eucharistic Liturgy
    • Sharing of time and talent with regard to parish life and ministry
    • Regular contributions through the use of the offertory envelope

Students may be accepted in the following order:

    • Siblings of students presently enrolled or graduates of the school
    • Registered parishioners in other parishes not having a school
    • Non-Catholic students

A kindergarten student must be 5 years old by September 1st of the year they enter school.  A first grade student must be six years old by September 1st.
